Rather than cut a hole in the top were going to do what others suggested in similar circumstances and pack dirt around the bottom

This fake stone is expensive but does its job

The rock wasnt quite deep enough to cover the housing and i had to build up the area around the housing with dirt

Now the grass has grown in around the fake stone and it looks like the real thing just another large stone in the yard

For safety reasons and to cut down kids curiosity i wanted grate hidden used this and have had many adults who have been in my yard prior to rock ask if rock was a real rock
