As an old fashioned hard working American man I buy my American iconic Converse tennis shoes made in China without thinking about it. Now, after nearly 10 years of buying used work boots from thrift stores I was in need of some good boots during this pandemic. And with most stores closed I searched online for new ones and ran across these. I noticed they were a lot more money than most of the boots I was looking at but seemed to have this heavy leather quality basic boot look to them and then found out they were made in the USA!I'm not racist but I did have some hard feelings at the time for this virus that appeared to come from an unapologetic China and wanted to put my money elsewhere. So I took the plunge and bought these strictly as work boots on my farm and I'm very pleased with them!First, they don't stink! There is no unnecessary synthetic liner that's suppose to wick away moisture but seems to actually accumulate dirt and smells. These are comfortable without it and I've been wearing them for weeks only changing socks every two or three days(Yeah, I know, it's kind of gross but I'm tight with my money) and my feet and socks smell like fresh quality leather.Second, they fit good with no slipping and sliding and no sores. It did take them a while to break in so I did have days of some discomfort but I expected that. An old horse guy told me years ago when I bought a pair of cowboy boots to go stand in a tub of water before going to work in them. He said that being all leather they'll dry and eventually form to your feet. No need to do that with these but it shows how a thick leather like this will require an adjustment time but once past that they should fit like a glove for years.And lastly, I think they look good. I didn't like them at first. Particularly I didn't like the light tan sole. But after it got dirty and maybe it grew on me I don't think it looks so bad.Bear in mind I bought these strictly as work boots. This is not normally what I use to do which was to buy a good looking boot and wear it as a dress boot till it got a year or two old and switch it to my work boot. I bought these clean and new and just started working. But actually in a retro old man kind of way I think they look good. They definitely scream practical. And they are with those ugly laces drawn down to the toe like that. But that makes them super easy to get on and off which was one reason I bought them. Also, they aren't heavy and yet seem to afford the same level of support and protection of other boots I've worn.So overall I'm happy with them and I'm happy to pay a little bit more to wear that flag on the side of them. I buy stuff from all over the world. I like my motorcycles made in Italy, my cars German, my ATV's Japanese, but I'll be darned if my tools, trucks, and boots can't be made here!  Read Less
