Wear in the heel box tells me your boot is probably to big and your heel is slipping and the wear on the toes tells me you arent realizing you are wearing a natural leather product and arent taking steps to protect that toe area from wear

From my understanding the shell of the boot comes assembled and the people in portland put the boots together
