Update: i've been using the bike for a couple months now, every day; i keep it in the back of my prius, park away from downtown where i can find free on-street parking, and then bike into work downtown.

My existing panier fit just fine, and the bike is long enough to still let you pedal even with a panier attached.

One annoyance -- unlike some of the youtube videos i watched, this particular model does not seem to have magnets to keep the two halves together.
