Pros & Cons

The AI used to provide these results are constantly improving. These results might change.

Pros

This is a book you want to savour over a period of time. Watch the story lines evolve and weave together over the decades. Think about the ideas which underlie the plot line.

Cons

The narration is horrible and does the author and publisher harm. I suspect they will be tied together at some point, but the author goes on and on with overly-detailed explanations that have no real relevance to the plot.

The climactic end of the book is disappointing. The most anti-climatctic ending ever. I hear it's a slow starter.

Women are * or madonnas. The female characters are nothing more than props for the personality-less male characters.

Women characters are completely secondary to the men and i found some of the romantic relationships to be implausible i will refrain from specifics so as not to bias potential readers

Its not exactly a shaggy dog story but i found the resolution of the plot to be underwhelming

It was nominated for the hugo in 2000 and it must have been on the basis of his reputation because it is not science fiction or fantasy

There is plenty of technology and math but nothing futuristic or fantastical though some give the book credit for anticipating the development of bitcoin and other digitial currencies
