Pros & Cons
Pros
Bought this as a way to have alternate option for emergency and power outages. It's cheaper (if you set up through google voice) than a cell phone since there's no bill whatsoever. If you want a classic look for a landline, this is a good option!
The receiver fits easily in its cradle and the phone is sufficiently weighted to stay in place. It's lightweight enough if you've got to carry the receiver with you. I disagree with the negative reviews saying the lightweight is a sign of cheapness.
Construction is very solid and the sound quality was well within my preferences. It reminded me of the older bell system sets. The ringer sounds fine to me!
Cons
It's just as *, light, and cheaply-made as any other mass-produced item that's designed to be thrown-away instead of repaired. There should be a mention of this in the product description. Poor quality assurance.
Phone is very lightweight. Only superficially resembles a western electric phone. No warranty information was included with the phone.
Barely audible ringer and earpiece. The ring is loud enough to wake the dead and cannot be adjusted. The lever is all the way to loud but no ring.
