Pros

Tires are light, strong, fast, and tacky. The only negative is that if i lock up the brakes fully they tend to slide more than grip. But honestly that is nothing compared to the durability and dependability of these tires.

Great tire. Rolls well, grips the tarmac without issue, and fends off punctures. Run it with latex inner tubes and they just glide thru all the dips and bumps.

Cons

The tire that came without the liner is not having any problems, so the variable is the cracks in the liner. I inspect my tires before riding and surely would have noticed that they were put on incorrectly.

Went to my local sporting goods store and they wanted 70 ish dollars for 1 tire

The delivery was quick and the quality of the tires are important to me as i will be doing a 500 mile bike ride across iowa

75 for expedited shipping it arrived two days late

Packaging/appearance

Although they arrive folded they pop right into shape and the beads are nice and hard so they clinch right into the rim for a positive lock

I didnt realize it was a twopack so ill put the other set on one of my many bikes no problem

Competitiveness

Compared to others in bike stores you cant beat the price

I made the mistake of buying other brands the last year or so and came back to gators for reliable riding

There is no discerning difference in “suppleness” or “road feel” between either the 5000’s or gatorskins

While its not easier than other tires ive changed continental 4000 5000 i had no difficulty
