Pros

The whistle has four functions - whistle, compass, thermometer and magnifier. Compass is fairly accurate and could be used as a back-up for my silva. Magnifying glass is ok. The compass and thermometer are nice extras.

Each of my grandsons have one when they go with me. Gave these out for cub scouts going on their first overnight camping trip. Best gift for under 5 bucks.

Cons

Whistle is not that loud, the compass is next to worthless and the thermometer is so tiny you need a magnifier to check it. The whistle is loud as all * but the compass indicates about 15 degrees off of true north.
