Pros

It's light weight - adjustable - & i love the antishock spring system. Light weight, comfortable grip and sturdy enough. It is very lightweight, and comes with a carbide tip.

This chinook outdoor cane is about 1/3 the price of other telescoping models. This is a very good at home cane, or even a good shopping cane to take to the stores, without much investment or worry about how it survives during shopping trips.

The handle is a bit bulkier, and longer, and rougher in texture. The cork handle is comfortable, and the rubber end tip does not slip on any of the variety of surfaces he has walked. The handles maintain the best comfort for my hand neuropathy.

I buy these for my elderly father who was a mountaineer in his younger years. Also gratefull that it can be used for trekking pole for hikes after he's healed. One main reason for when or if i'm woken in the middle of the night with a charliehorse (ak...  Read More

Cons

Made in china. What looks at fist glance to be a cork handle appears to be molded plastic. Chinook technical outdoors, says these are not covered by warranty. Sounds like the tv commercial where the insurance company only covers zombie apocalypse.

The one negative is the cork handle does not last long before it cracks

But they are a standard design and very cheap

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I’m 33 and need a cane for chronic back spasms so maybe it’s a generational thing assuming the bad reviews are coming from an older crowd

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

But i can’t get over people giving unfavorable reviews due to things like a weak rubber tip that wears too easily or the audible clicking of the antishock mechanism

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Sometimes it does come out of the antishock setting just in use and you have to give it a quick twist to get back to it though with time i hope it doesnt do it all the time

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

That one does not have an on and off mechanism for the antishockit is on all the time

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Dont get me wrong this is a good serviceable cane at a good price if you dont need the lightest in weight or the shortest in collapsed dimensions for travel
