Pros & Cons

Pros

Bowrench is a must have if you are installing tongue and groove boards. Works extremely well in straightening 5/4 deck board which was the job of the day. Video of the attempt to straighten the first big curve.

The bowrench is strong and rugged. Great product, reasonably priced and well made.

Ipe is pretty much like working with really long piece of thick and movable metal. A crow-bar or heavy screwdriver driven into the joist works just as well. Only drawback is that it only works over a single joist.

Cons

Both are overpriced. Save your money and use a 16penny nail or heavy screw and a crow bar.

Bowrench is only good for single joist deck unless you spend more money and buy an additional accessory. Does not grip joists well for 2 x 6 decking planks. Worthless if you are replacing the deck's flooring.
