I was able to get the onoff switch to work by ensuring hose was inserted into wall correctly there is a bump out on the male end that goes in a certain place on wall recepticle that i discovered by accident

Cons the locking mechanisms on the metal tubing doesnt always stay together and a few of the plastic pieces on the hose are thin and will probably not hold up to the test of time
