Pros

Used extensively for outdoor grilling as originally posted, above. Works great for grilling or cooking meat in the oven. Nothing better than eating the perfectly cooked steak!

The metal covering the tip is thin enough that the reading is stable within 8 seconds. It reads almost instantly, about 3 to 5 seconds, and is quite accurate.

Very good product. Works perfectly. Love this item. Update as of january 12, 2013.

Cons

This thermometer is absolutely worthless. It's off by 15 degrees and it won't calibrate. Either the device is bad or the battery they sent with it is dead.
