I had to extend it for at least 3 feet when installing it on my 4th gen 4runner even though we have run the cable along the ceiling not the floor
Upd although picture quality is good in general two major drawbacks are as follows the camera collects moisture in the inner side of the lens after car wash if pressure washers water jet falls directly onto it and it takes about a day in summer to dry off
When you installed you are forced to drop one tag light every car has two tag light for law but the camera is coming with one light to replace the factory tag light the light is white as a day light
The camera is coming with the yellow rca cable which is too short for all toyota 4runner i have to add 5 more feet of video cable with a coupler for rca cables
