I found it difficult to attach but that is more to do with the fitbit design than the band itself.

The definition of canvas is: a firm closely woven cloth usually of linen, hemp, or cotton used for clothing and formerly much used for tents and sails, or a stiff material (as of coarse cloth or plastic) that has regular meshes for working with a needle (as in needlepoint)this is not linen, hemp, or cotton, so i must assume the second definition applies.
