This is the only catan expansion i'd call essential. My family really enjoys playing catan with this expansion pack.
From what i researched before buying the seafarers expansion, this is easier to learn than some other expansion sets. It has a more lucky laden variant were you fight against pirates using upgraded ships versus dice numbers.
This is for up to 4 players, there are extension sets for 5-6 players that you can get separately. My only issue is with my wife and niece who gang up on me every game where it becomes impossible to win.
Cons
The game is fun but this is such a scam, i now have to go buy the seafarer 3–4 in a physical store tomorrow. What gives me grief is that the vibrant green pieces of old are a dark, almost black olive paint here. It is very dull and doesn't match the g... Read More
