Not the highest level of protection though better than one from the 99 cent store but not better than an average slimline made in china case

As a point of note the wood is very thin but not just a lamination

The most important parts are covered edges and corners and there is a 1mm lip that comes up above the screen to protect the screen if you drop it on its face
