You should place it close to the metal line on your fret and though it is a one handed capo i would not recommend using it if you want to put it on and off quickly while playing

I tried it on an electric guitar but the spring has too much pressure for the lighter strings

Decent capo but not as good as the kyser i had because it is not as solid

On many more expensive ones the back will contour to the curve of the neck but i dont see any issues with uneven pressure on this less expensive one nor is it likely to get knocked out of place during normal play
