The lip around the edge of the barbell is a good distance to get the tips of my fingers under for that kind of lifting. I recommend clips when using these particular plates, as they will move around on a barbell with 2 inch sleeves.
No major chips or gouges in mine, and paint job is consistent.
Cons
I regret going cheap on this pair of plates. They are lumps of cheap iron that might mar your more expensive equipment. Consider replacing with a better product such as the ivanko/vtx grip plates or the usa plates(have some 100s that are pretty solid)... Read More

If you want pretty weights buy the expensive rubber ones with the handles and chrome center

Shipping was fast and i got them for a good price

The only problem was the packaging was torn all to pieces causing some cosmetic issues

They seem to be in good working order for a 45lbs plate and do the job great
These are the most cost effective and look the best
Putting a 45lb weight each in a flimsy cardboard box that is roughly 2x3 and stuffing it with packaging paper is just asking for trouble
The seller is not lying these are actual 45lb weights

Prosexpedient shippingplates weighed in at 45 pounds on my scaledurable one fell about a foot onto concrete and remains intact which it should given its cast ironconcenter hole is significantly larger than 2 inches which means it’ll torque on a 2 inch barbell sleeve unless clips are usedoverallthe plates are functional

Get out or purchase an el cheapo coarse rounded file and fix the inner hole within a few minutes
