When on, the charger powers the camera directly, offering great standalone performance. I suspect the stock canon battery buffers the capacity so that you still get 120 minutes even if you use it heavily.

Cons

Low light performance is terrible. Image is fuzzy and grainy. The ergonomics are a bit clumsy as well.

Using this camera in its automatic setting gave me jittery and noisy footage. The camera gets hot when recording in 4k60 mode.

Not a difficult learning curve to excellent videos excellent quality pics

Having spent the last 10 years or so only shooting video with a phone or a dslr i am blown away with the video quality on this camera

The picture quality of this camera is teriffic

Price

So far no complaints even though its pretty expensive

I highly recommend it as an affordable dependable option

Note if you find this camcorder on sale for 2299 new it is a good price

This is not to knock amazon it was just that it was on supersale for functionally less than 1350

Competitiveness

It is a bit larger than the competitors but the 4k resolution and the mp4 codec makes up for any minor inconvenience

Brilliant results as far as the quality of the videos themselves much better than my other camcorders

If you want to spend less and dont mind 4k 30p then the sony ax700 might be better for you

The sony could output a better picture depending on what you are doing for example scenes with low motion
