Pros

Update to this review. Could not be happier. My fiance says this is a perfect step up. Otherwise, luv this lens.

The only thing that matters to me is sharpness, focus speed and accuracy. Nice sharp images with a beautiful blurred background. After cropping a pic of the moon, it still holds most of the sharpness!

The image stabilizer system is great for zooming in, it really helps me. Image stabilizer is amazingly smooth. The image stabilization is nice.

For a long telephoto lens this one is not too heavy. This lens is on the big side, but doesn't weigh me down. It is compact, light and easy to pack and carry.

The lens is great, focus quickly and quitely. The only small downside is that i had to buy the lens hood seperately. Most this info is for your information and is also listed in the specs of the lens.

Cons

It’s impossible to do anything using the lcd display outside. Had two white specs on inside of lens. Canon just needs to have better qc.

I was less enamored with the rebel and ok with the 60d

I like the price and weight but quality if of photos is way less than i expected

The extra zoom is slightly more again not enough to justify the price difference

The nanousm also was a surprise being very fast and having no problem finding focus

Canon claims it is fast for stills but silent like stm for video

This is a fairly lighweight lens you could carry this all day

I tried both the units on a canon 700d t5i rebel a 60d 80d 7dii and 5diii

Shot on an 80d on full auto at full zoom from the exact same spot
