Pros
Great lense for the price. You are a comfortable distance away with this lens, not too zoomed in or out. Definitely recommend all canon slr owners to buy one of these.
I'm currently a med student and sold my soul to pay for my tuition. This lens is well worth the 100 bucks i could have spent on my groceries instead. Good value for the dollar.
This is by far, my fave lens. It's called the nifty fifty by many enthusiasts for a reason.
Cons
This lens works, but is crazy clunky. It eats away battery power like crazy on af. Do not get fooled.

The fact that the housing is plastic doesnt bother me it still seems well made and the price can not be beat period

The prime lens with large aperture do take some photography adjustment because the depth of field is very shallow at low f values

The autofocus is very very slow so it forces me to use manual most of the time
