The other piece which is like a shape of ice cream cone is removable from the head and is useless of no use to me

It pans smoothly and goes up and down and come up when let go so the fluid is good suppose to do what it suppose to do

The release plate can be tricky to come off the head it only comes off towards you inwards not outwards by pressing the red button on the head

All the knobs to tighten the head are made of plastic like on many tripods you see out there it can eventually wear out and become loose and have no tightning to it and wear the thread out after long time use
