Michelin maps tend to be the best. Rand mcnally publications a close second. They have almost every road in the state, with topo contours and shaded relief.

This atlas is now in the outhouse where it belongs and where i can peruse it to turn up even more errors. It really is a disappointment.

Many places of great interest for the tourist were not specially marked. Out of date by years for some campgrounds and mislocated others. My advice is to either find another large-scale atlas of california or use your gps.
