Pros

All ports plugged in except front panel usb and headset. The gigabit ethernet port performs at gigabit speeds. The esata ports are both 6gbps according to the official specifications.

I wish i had known this existed far earlier! When it functions correctly it makes my life so much easier. No hiccups. Kudos to caldigit.

If you are into desktop audio production it works great as you can connect a motu firewire audio unit to it with a thunderbolt to firewire 800 adapter.

Mbs peak. Imac is perfect to breathe new life into my 2011 macbook pro. Everything appears to be working and with the internal drive on the mbp that i replaced with an ssd, the machine is only slightly slower than the 2014 mbp.

Be sure to install the software from the caldigit web site.

Cons

Any screen i hook up to it loses signal within 2 seconds. Otherwise this thing is a glorified usb hub.
