Hence this thin mat surprisingly passed my test

2 put a hot cast iron pan on itcast iron was on stove till smoking then put it on the mat and nothing happened to it at all

I bought these to use on top of an electric induction cooktop so the top glass does not get scratched

So i put it through some test1 direct flame i held the corner over a large gas flame the corner burnt and from square it became more rounded but it never cut on fire or melt there is a fiberglass matt inside so while the black cover on top might be discolored in high temp the mat should survive it
