It was a bit of a struggle to get it to fit note that the air gap is the outer ring not the inner straw as it was just a little too large but after taking a pair of pliers and compressing it down and pushing really hard it popped in

My drains like most descend into a p trap and then into a 90 degree elbow before entering the wall

The bristles occupy just one half of the head which facilitates getting it around the bends

When the tool was out of the drain i found a small amount of hair and debris in the bristles but most material had been flushed away

With this style stopper the drain tube connecting to the bottom of the sink is replaced with a new tube that is smooth walled with no stopper rod inside
