Pros & Cons
Pros
The new filters fit perfectly into our 10-cup pitcher, needing only a quick 15-second rinse before installation. They're easy to install and last for a decent amount of time. They are a bit pricey but more economical than purchasing bottled water.
These brita plus filters make my tap water taste cleaner and less chlorine-y. In our area, the water sometimes has a bleach-like smell, so i have to filter it before use. Overall, a good option for basic water filtration and better taste.
Water flow on the 'plus' is slightly slower than the standard. The drain holes are a little smaller than those on the basic filter. It is very fast to filter, especially when the filter has just been changed.
Cons
Black stuff started to pour out of them. The spout was stained with water minerals. The new one is a smidge taller, just enough so that the lid won't go back on.
Inspecting the filter, it looks like they just put some sand + activated charcoal in it and called it a day. Second filter takes 1 hour to filter this small container?
