I normally use the dishwasher but it appears as if washing andor soaking the cup for a few minutes would release all of the grounds pretty easily

Note there are cutouts on the bottom of the refillable cups that may have to be lined up with the brewer in order for them to seat properly

Depending on the type of coffee and how the grind is it may stick to the cup
