He couldn't lay on the mattress anymore because the mattress wasn't really meant to be plush/cushy/soft in any way
There are of course, the expensive options when looking into the organic realm: naturepedic does make a twin size kid mattress (spring unfortunately), saavy rest, keetsa, royal pedic, my green mattress, etc
Reeducated myself about the certifications and labels to look for (again, since it has changed a little in 3 years) for the things that mattered to me, to make sure i wasn't getting only half the organic or safe stuff i was looking for (prime example would be waterproof mattress covers, may be made with organic cotton, but the plastic that makes it water proof is either polyester or polyurethane which are full of chemicals that off gas and you breathe in, so if you just purchase because it reads organic, and don't read all of the things it's actually comprised of, you'd not realize that the organic is cancelled out by the chemicals
Asked them about the type of natural latex, could they swap out the polyester cover for an organic one, what made a latex and foam mattress better, versus just a latex or just a foam, or a combo of either with springs, which was their 'best seller'
