    I've just come from hearing rattle conducting the berlin philharmonic live in the first symphony of brahms, so while i haven't yet heard this recording i think it's fair to assume the interpretation on disc will be close to what the audience listened to tonight.

    Those who commented that rattle does not unleash a karajan tidal wave of sound are correct, but it was not missed.
