Both models have a wide velcro closure that secures the flap tightly. Only concern i have is how well the velcro will stick after a few years of use. It is the only case i've found with a metal zipper and is built well.
The overall price is high, but you do get a superb quality case. Build old school and made to last forever and be handed down to your kid. Boyt makes a case that lasts many years and this is why i continue to buy.
Cons
The zipper is on the bottom instead of the top, which make no sense. The stitching near the barrel tip is loosely stitched and of very light thread.
