    The straws are hard plastic.

    You must stretch lid over the top of the cup then press down on the center to let out some air and then insert the straw.

    If the diameter of the cup isn’t large enough, it doesn’t stretch enough and then you have kids creating fountains with their drink :)however i’m disappointed that one of the covers ripped when stretching it over the cup.

    The contents will shoot out when you try to add the straw (it was comical).

    However, if you don't fit them on the cups correctly, the content of the cup will shoot out the straw if a child presses on it.
