The books are rated one through five, with five highest. Good descriptions of writers, the story, and a number of reviewer opinions.

Loved the best of 2011 chart in the most recent issue. Bookmarks contains so much information on new books plus recommendations on older ones. There is also a page that makes note of new and upcoming releases that are of interest.

Everyone from john steinbeck to john cheever. Great reviews and many genres. I like the sections that feature a particular genre-- they have had ones on crime and also literary nonfiction.

Reading bookmarks makes me want to revisit old books and try new ones. One of the best things about bookmarks is its straightforward and intelligent approach to books. Bookmark magazine is a great book review magazine.

The fractured chronicles [blog] features a book club each issue. I love how they profile long standing book clubs and discuss the logistics of maintaining a bookclub for years.



Cons
