Start with hot water instead of cold water will only shorten the cycle time 2-5 minutes.

The only thing is that i don't know how to turn the machine off except by pulling the plug off.

My only complaint is that the beeping goes on for a long time when it is done, so if other people are still sleeping you can't leave the maker and go for a walk while it cooks.
