It closes the umbrella but you still have to push the umbrella down the rod to shorten it

Its not the biggest umbrella check details for dimensions but it does great for at least one person

It opens very fast which is nice but could actually hurt someone if you opened it at the wrong time

One thing that sort of bothers me is that there is no way to open it besides the button

So if you had it open and wanted to close it for a brief time in order for the umbrella to reopen you have to fully close the umbrella push the stalk into the compressed setting so that you can reopen with the button
