It does function but the audio quality is poor and has quite a bit of interference

Not a problem if you are in the next room with the tv speaker trying to listen to tv while cooking my use but would not be acceptable if you were trying to use both the tv speakers and the bluetooth speakers in the same room

Another odd thing is if you charge it via usb when the battery is fully charged the bluetooth sound at least on my unit picks up a buzz
