Quality

Works pretty well and i’m happy with it for the price.

It has a good amount of weight and the plexi glass with the sight lines is solid.

Plus i received an e-mail from the seller, asking if i was satisfied with the product!

You first have to align the plexi lines with the body, use a combination square then tighten screws.

Packaging/appearance

Need to hold down firmly to properly align the dowels.

Competitiveness

But i gave it a shot because it’s was cheaper than the rockler brand and had free prime shipping.

This a good inexpensive doweling jig, if you have a particular job for it.

The collar the sets the depth feels like it won’t last long.

You have to really tighten the set screw to keep it in place.

I really like how easy it is to use, but the drill bit has a tendency to pull, causing the jig to “jump” off the mark by up to 1/16” when drilling the first hole.

If you are using a board that's over 1/2 thick it obviously isn't centered on the board.

If you incert the bit with drill running in reverse it goes right in,then drill hole.

The jig works but it is difficult to keep it in place while drilling simply bc the plexiglass is so slick.

Also the clear piece was loose at first and had to be squared and tightened.
