I searched hard for a chair within my price range that would be comfortable and built sturdily enough for a guy with a lot of weight and some physical challenges. While this one doesn't have all of the features I was originally hoping for, it was the one I the felt safest about purchasing online (sight-unseen and seat unsat-in).The parts really are heavy-duty; compared to other chairs I've owned, this thing is built like a tank. Even the casters, while perhaps not as much thicker/heavier as I'd expected, do seem thicker and heavier-built than others I've handled (and broken).I was originally hoping for a design with arms that would flip up, but these at least looked like they were far enough apart, and didn't come too close to the edge of the seat, so that they wouldn't painfully press in on my legs as most chair designs do. The wide seat does feel much more comfortable than previous chairs - though I can tell that I'll still have at least a little discomfort from the arms if I sit for a long time. (However, I will take discomfort over actual pain any day, and the chair that this is replacing caused me actual pain.)So what made me decide on this model, even though others were available that had the type of arms I'd wanted and other appealing features? Well, I read reviews very carefully. Some of those other chairs had mostly great reviews, but when you turned to the BAD reviews - the one- and two-star writeups - you could see threads of consistently repeated problems running through them... lots of people having the exact SAME bad experience that seems to point to particular design flaws or seller issues. Also, be aware that it's possible to for sellers to steal reviews from a previous product of theirs, so that with some items that appear to have thousands of good reviews, if you look through them carefully, you find that those writers are not all describing the same item. I crossed some promising options off of my list if it looked like the sellers were playing that game. When my very thorough search was done, this was the one that looked like the safest buy - the negative reviews didn't suggest any consistent issues (or at least not any that worried me; e.g., I don't care if the cylinder won't stay up, as I intend to use it on its lowest setting anyway) and the specs seemed to fit my needs.Putting it together was fairly easy, with one exception. This is one of those chairs where the back is attached to the seat only by means of the armrests, with two large bolts in the back and two in the seat on each side. The directions said to install the seat onto the cylinder, then bolt the armrests to the seat first - but doing that left me trying to hold up the back with nowhere to rest it and made it impossible to keep it stable enough to get the bolts in. It might have been do-able that way if extra hands had been available, but I was on my own. What I ended up doing was unbolting the arms from the seat, removing the seat from the cylinder, and doing those steps in reverse order: first I bolted (loosely) the arms to the chair back, then bolted them to the seat, then replaced the seat on the cylinder. This meant that I had to lift the entire seat at once, which is pretty heavy - but it was much easier than trying to get the bolts in properly (or in fact to get them in at all) the other way.I didn't really care one way or another about the massage function - if it worked, that was just a bonus. I just tried it and it does work - it's just a simple vibrator, but it actually felt pretty good so it's possible that I'll actually use it. It's not overly strong, but folks have said that plugging it directly into the wall via a phone-type charger gives it more oomph, so I'll probably give that a try.Four stars instead of five for relatively small reasons: (1.) a couple of the non-important (i.e. cosmetic, not weight-bearing) plastic parts arrived damaged - could probably have been avoided with better packing; (2.) the very short (30-day) return period, which makes me a bit concerned about planned obsolescence; (3.) the wheels feel a bit sticky, not as free-rolling as I'd like (hopefully this will work itself out with use); and (4.) the difficulty of getting that back piece attached. But honestly... if the chair holds up to real daily use, and no unforeseen issues emerge, I might come back and reset it to five stars. We'll see. For now, I'm satisfied I made a decent choice.  Read Less
