Quality

The build quality is excellent; more solid than the hd650 and they don't require quite as much power to drive them.

Build quality is spot on, everything feels solid.

In conclusion: the better produced a track teh better the dt880 - the worse produced a track the more the dt880 will highlight ...  Read More

The soundstage, the quality, the overall sound itself is exceptional.

The build quality is simply stellar, the materials, the execution.

Price

I was just about to buy a third as i purchased two a few months ago, but now the price has gone soaring from £147.

Competitiveness

I like combination of dt770/880 250ohm pro.

I have the 250 ohm version paired with an audioengine d1 and love how they sound together.

Don't be fooled by the competitors to think that bass = quality, it doesn't.

I drive them with a project head box ii or a fiio e9 both of which have plenty of power to enjoy.

I have a iphone that has all my music on and my concern was would the 250 ohm be too powerful for the iphone, and as an alternative i looked at the 32 ohm but was put off by the fact that the music sounds less impressive through the 32ohms, apparently.

Whilst they are described as semi-closed they are more open with the noise leakage that takes place.

I tried a few other sets of headphones, albeit some of a higher and lower price bracket and for what you pay for these there is very little difference, also after researching on the internet and looking at frequency response graphs these are the flattest i could find within my budget.

Great headphones for music production, but coiled lead is awkward when wearing an instrument

As stated in the description, these are semi-open headphones, meaning that some sound leaks out and in.

So other people close by can hear what you are listening to and it is also possible to hear background noise around you when you are listening to the headphones.

That said, the sound leakage into and out of the headphones is not excessive and should not be a problem in reasonable situations.

However, i do have some noise-cancelling sennheiser headphones and the listening experience is far inferior to these dt880 headphones, because the noise-cancelling function does impact the sound quality.
