It has a quick mount adapter so that it will easily attach and detach but the adapter sticks out from your laptop when the fan is removed so if youre laptop case is snug then beware

The higher dollar ones that monitor the temperature and automatically turn off might be good for a server or development machine

I used velcro strips to keep it in place but its not the best solution and still should probably be kept flat on a desk or table

Id like to get a laptop stand soon and im not sure how this will work once the laptop is raised off the table
