I find that trying to rip it from the bottom where it is folded three times is more difficult

Note also that the bag can rip when you try to pull it out of the garbage can at least for ours where the garbage can is square

However this only occurs when we push the garbage down and the force compacts the garbage in the can making it more difficult to pull out

When you do this and try to pull out the garbage bag it can rip near the top seams especially if you are trying to pull it out by the drawstring

If you are careful pulling out the bag holding it below the drawstrings and pulling it out evenly the bag should not rip

The bag is slightly transparent though you cant really make out all the garbage in it
