It is the shatter resistant material that protects your phone screen and i can tell you that i have used and replaced these before as i have dropped my phone a number of times before this protector has shattered and when it did i was so thankful that it was the protector that broke and not my actual screen

I set it gently on the phone after arranging it around the buttons as it should be im always so nervous doing this kind of thing but was impressed that even if it touched the screen a tiny bit it didnt stick immediately and once it was in place i just dropped it down and pressed on it tightly with a finger
