This is a life saver with a 600mm lens when you dont want to lug around a full tripod. It's great for road trips!

I was worried the head size would be huge like a normal tripod, it wasn't.

Sometimes those cameras look silly on huge tripods.

When the legs are spread out the monopod does not sway on flat surfaces.

One thing to note is the bottom blue base that connects all 3 legs and the legs themselves are actually plastic.

It turns smoothly, holds up smoothly (no hands) when i need it to (i do have a light camera, though), and my only complaint isn't entirely the monopod's fault: as i'm using an lx100 the camera's too small for the mounting plate (camera's fault) and it's a real pain getting the mounting plate to mount (monopod's fault) as the knob to tighten it bumps into the camera.

I have to twist the camera and risk (typically do) loosening it from the plate to give the tightening knob room to turn.

It was important to me to be able to work alone.

Great for your large aperture, non-stabilized prime lenses on dslrs and mirrorless cameras (the high quality lenses which you can't use handheld).
