I purchased this unit from a different vendor w a lower price
My husband was able to jimmy it back in but i would definitely prefer it if the lid werent attached to the unit

I received two damaged slow cookers one with a broken hinge and one with a broken display before i received a working one

The only consideration is the lid gasket is very hard to get clean

It clicks into place and seals the pot so things stay moist which is a good thing but the mechanism that secures the lid is pretty flimsy and you have to be very careful not to break it

On the downside the operation instructions were almost hysterical

What that means is if the rod slides to far too one side inside the plastic the hinge breaks apart
