Pros
The mic is so quiet (no noise). The range of hearing for a healthy young person is 20 to 20,000 hertz. This works absolutely wonders, since it basically avoids all laptop and fans noises.
The build is really good and the sound quality is also very good. It's a little muddy in the low end, but overall a very warm and pleasant sound for singing and speech.
Cons
The xm8500 is too heavy like a hammer and it really doese'nt sound good. The pyle ppmik mic that i have is way lighter and way sound better and way cheaper but unfortunately it seems it already discontinued. Ended up buying a more expensive product ra... Read More

Ive heard it side by side with an sm58 and the differences are more subjective in taste than actual quality
As a comparison my daily drive was a shure sm58 and this is really comparable

Seriously though if you have other gear a compressor etc this thing sounds like its value is in the hundreds

That being said i ran it through an avalon 737sp into an rme fireface but the fact it even has the potential to sound epic speaks volumes
