The beardsley website basically provides the same directions printed on the container of each item and doesn't give any explanation or info.

The lotion is nice because it’s easier to apply than something like a balm, it just doesn’t seem to last as long.

While they do smell nice, they are simply strong and linger for quite some time, that is a personal issue though.
