Basepaws is a dna and health test. It alerts you to possible health problems with your kitty. My cats went to their regular vet for their annual exam and we discovered one of them really needs a teeth cleaning, and then other one has good teeth.

Domestic cats have a huge mix of random dna, and not many of them ever had a purebred in their ancestry. Siamese is not even a breed they test for!

About 8-10 weeks after sending my cat's sample, i was informed that there were delays in the process due to a lab malfunction. I then was given a completion window from basepaws of nov 10-nov 24. The office has no way of tracing the kit!

I bought it when it went on sale

The kit was purchased directly on the website during a sale so i didnt pay full price and probably wouldnt for it

On a whim i ordered these tests and they came quickly were easy to use and i got results back quickly

It took 6 weeks from time they emailed confirming they extracted dna in total 8 weeks since sending out

It took about a month to get results from the time i sent it but no big deal

I know we all want things faster but it was worth the wait for our family

Swab your kittys mouth and cheeks seal up the vile and put it all back in the box it came in and send it out

I went ahead a purchased a wisdom panel test for another cat just to compare the two

Turns out that crusher is 20 maine coon which was not a surprise at all

72 of his dna markers being similar to a maine coon
