They are not a tactical radio they do not have an ip rating for waterproofing they are not intrisically safe they do not meet nfpa 1802 requirements

They’re not “so awesome they’re illegal” they’re illegal to use on certain radio services because they don’t have fcc part acceptance for those services

These radios are not being banned contrary to what people apt to speaking out of the wrong orifice without researching anything they say would tell you

And yes it’s true that they can transmit on frequencies they’re not legal for

So can my commercial a kenwood motorola icom and hytera uhf radios most of which are capable of transmitting on frs frequencies including channels 8 14 even though they don’t have a power setting low enough to legally transmit on those frequencies those frequencies only allow
