The funky owners manual does not even say how to replace batteries but fortunately i read the comments of other reviewers here

The battteriesare also a rather tight fit in the snug compartments but they do indeed fit

My neato vacuum started to only hold a charge for about 5 minutes before the battery would die

You must scroll through the menu on neato and choose new battery to let the vacuum know you replaced the batteries for it to work properly
