    The first photo i included is of the b+w filter—straight-on, it’s so clear, i can’t even tell there is glass.

    The second photo is of the ~$10 amazon basics uv filter—it didn’t matter how straight-on i looked at the filter, there was always a reflection, as you can see (the reflection of my phone) in the photo.

    It's something i learned the hard way while filming an automotive build, and a piece of a wire brush went flying straight into the center of my thousand-dollar lens and nicked it right in the middle, rendering it useless.
