I originally bought the m1054 axis camera for a diy home security system.

The m3006 is just what i was looking for: i can see the stairs, the hall, and the door right underneath where the camera is mounted: http://cl.

Using the motion jpeg stream i can feed the video right into a web browser in my home network (or share it externally through my router if i wanted) and don't need to use the axis web interface at all.

You can set up areas of the video that should be monitored for motion and then have the camera send an email, make an http request, or more, when it detects something moving there.

Having it be wireless will usually net you a lower quality image and clog up the wireless connection for the other computers in the house.

Extreme low-light conditions (like no light at all) leaves something to be desired, but i'm going to try adding an ir illuminator and see if that helps.

It's a little annoying that the camera has a hard-wired 6 foot ethernet cable already attached.
